Grammoceratinae (Ammonitina) fauna from the Gerecse Mts (Hungary)
(Appendix: Pseudolillia paralleliformisnov. sp.)
Abstract
Taxonomical, stratigraphical and palaeobiogeographical problems of subfamily Grammoceratinae and included genera Pseudogrammoceras, Grammoceras, Podagrosites, Pseudolillia, Esericeras, and Gruneria are briefly discussed.
Zonal index taxa of the subfamily are documented from the Middle–Upper Toarcian ammonite assemblage of the Gerecse Mts (NE Transdanubian Range). A new species (Pseudolillia paralleliformis nov. sp.) is introduced in the
Appendix. The Grammoceratinae fauna detailed here is closely allied to the submediterranean transition zones of the Mediterranean Province of the Mediterran–Caucasian Realm.
